Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
Do not go to Dick's Sporting Goods for Remington UMC .45 acp FMJ. They wanted $65 for a 100 pack. That is beyond ridiculous for range ammunition.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
I worked a Dick's during high school. Almost EVERYTHING in the entire store is a ripoff.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
My sister's a widow, and one day she decided to go to Dick's. She was pissed off when she found they didn't have any - just a bunch of sports stuff!

What a bunch of Dicks!

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
They bought out local sports retail powerhouse Chick's Sporting Goods, who was beloved here. No one I know likes Dick's; to the contrary, they are disliked intensely...

I normally get my range ammo at Dick's and the 9mm wasn't bad but $65 for UMC? Come on people. |
Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
Last year they had a printable coupon that provided $10 off any order of $25 or more...that was a great deal. But now you're right...the ammo prices are too expensive without a serious discount.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
Yeah? Well imagine my surprise one day at the office while perusing the net for some new golf clubs, when I discovered to my utter horror that their website is NOT www.dicks(DOT)com!!!!!

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
I just got back from a range here in tampa with my FIL. Shot their 50 yard rifle range and then went over to the pistol range to shoot .45. They were asking $8.99 for some crap 7.62x39, 15 rounds to a box! They were totaly out of .45 APC range ammo, only had SD, corbon, ranger etc which they were asking over $30 for 20 round boxes. Damn good thing they allow outside ammo.
When we left, there was a guy in the parking lot selling ammo out of his trunck. Had winchester 100 round boxes and UMC 250 round boxes. He was asking $60 for 100 rounds. I told him no way, thats just crazy. I can live being $40 light and 100 rounds heavier. |
Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
They price match..... even ammo. I do it all the time at multiple locations in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Yu can get WalMart prices if you know the prices, and can prove it.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
I find them comparable to MaoMart in most calibers in my area.

I just placed an order online and have my fingers crossed that the ammo will actually show up. A little while back I had placed a similar order for a case of 380 ACP, which showed it was in stock when I ordered. It immediately went to backorder, and then my order was finally canceled. Hopefully that won't happen here... |
Re: Dick's Sporting Goods rip-off.
I hate Dicks Sporing Goods. Last January they had a special where you could buy a case of Remmington 9mm and it worked out with coupons to $5.50 a box. I bought 3K rounds worth. You should have seen the look on the girl working the front cashier. She says,"WHAT do you need all that ammo for?". I didn't answer. Just paid and left. Finally shot it all, now reload...reloading is the key to shooting alot....hell a lot cheaper
